Quoting a price for a website used to be a complicated task!
First
of all, there is the price for the design of the page. Then, you have
to calculate the cost of every subsequent page thereafter.
How
much for hosting? And what about the cost of buying the domain name? Does
that include Email accounts - and who sets them up?
There
are so many different variables to put into the cost - so where do you
start and what should you expect to pay?
This
is why, at Dearne Valley Web Design, we have come up with an altogether
simpler way of pricing a static* website:
For
a 3 page website, there is a charge of £100 per page (£150 for a
single page website). We then charge £50 per page for each page
thereafter. For example, a 3 page website would cost £300, a 4 page
website would cost £350 and a 5 page website would cost £400.
We include 2 years free hosting with most of our websites, the purchasing
(in your name) of the domain name and inclusion of Email accounts.
Updates
are charged at £20 per hour or part thereof. Hosting is charged
at £5 per month after the initial 2 years free hosting has expired.
What could be simpler?
*Larger,
dynamic websites using PHP, MySQL databases and e-commerce are priced
on request, such is the nature of their variable size and workload. Ring
